No, the title above is not a typo, I did not mean to write blondes. Bronde is actually a new trend in town, so if silver hair ain’t your thing, don’t worry, this one is much more natural and easy to do.

Bronde has been going around for a some time now but it made headlines when the ex-blonde Blake Lively decided to change her lovely hue to a darker one.

❤ the bronde

This “new” shade is the perfect middle ground between blonde and brunette. It’s a color that will go well with most people’s complexion and you can see here some before and afters that show that this small change can make quite a difference on someones overall look.

“Bronde is the perfect way for the brunette woman to explore lighter shades in her hair without having to go fully blonde,” says Jason Backe, celebrity colorist for L’oréal Professionnel. “It’s that perfect mix of a light brown shade with subtle blonde highlights that, when blended with the rest of the hair, appears golden and honey-toned.”

There isn’t one specific way to achieve a bronde shade and it depends a lot on your colorist and their preference, but there ARE a few basic ways to get the look – like balayage (freehand painting) or good old foiling. But more important than technique is for you to bring in a picture. Bronde can cover many different shades, so it will be easier for your hair stylist to decide what to do if you bring in a clear picture.

Bronde shades

Beware!  Jason Backe also states to be careful when going from blonde to bronde. But that hasnt stopped Blake Lively!

“If you try to put darker shades into blond hair, it can look too heavy or stripy,” .

Now, Olivia Palermo was already rocking bronde way before it became a thing. She was considered the embassador of bronde until she walked out rocking a true blonde shade a couple weeks ago! Do you approve or do you think she should have stayed with the color she was so popular for? One thing is certain, lighter locks will never be out of style.

Are you inspired to make a change to your hair?

Never be afraid to change, hair grows back.
