I am definitely not a fan of zombies. They are disgusting and just…not cute. So when I first heard about this show my first reaction was to skip it, but, reading more about it, it got me curious and I added it to my watch list.
What makes this different? You might ask.
Well, the main character is THE zombie. Yes, this is a story about Gwen, an once over achieving medical student who is now undead and finds herself stuck in this new life. She still looks cute, albeit a bit gothy, but she needs to eat brain once a month to keep from losing her memories and intelligence. Thankfully, with her new job in the morgue, she has plenty of access to recently deceased people; when she consumes their brains she “inherits” part of the deceased’s thoughts, their talents and their imperfections. And with her new abilities she starts helping the police find their murderes.
If you are a fan of crazy-eyed and out of control zombies fret not! Juding by the ending of the first episode she isn’t the only zombie out there but she is certainly the most civilized one, although she can become quite badass when needed.
