I’ve been wanting to try more cushions since testing the affordable Missha Magic Cushion (and loving it!). So, after seeing Edward Avila reviewing this cushion, and his love for Pony Effect, I bought this immediately. It sounded amazing! And I’d be able to find a better shade match for me since it offers 7 shades, unlike Missha’s, which has 2.

About the Cushion

Pony Effect Defense Longwear Cushion Foundation:

  • Whitening, Anti-wrinkle, UV Protection SPF50+/PA+++ (refill included)
  • Protect your skin from the pollution with Urban Defence Effect
  • Long-lasting Cushion Foundation fits into skin quickly and smoothly

I got mine in Fair because I’m a NC10 in MAC, but boy was I surprised! The shade fair is extremely pale, perfect for porcelain beauties, even too pale for me! The packaging is beautiful and holographic, the closure is magnetic and the puff to apply the foundation with is very high quality and soft.

However, this did not work well for my skin. I couldn’t capture it perfectly but it was too pale, too shiny and too drying at the same time! My skin is difficult with foundations though, but I was still upset because this cushion was thrice the price of the Missha one…

Coverage

Sadly, even my family noticed and said it was not working for me.

The Good:
  • Good shade range for Korean cosmetics. Goes very fair!!
  • No transfer after setting powder.
  • Long lasting.
  • High coverage
  • Easy to apply
  • Lovely Packaging
The bad
  • Smelt like sunscreen
  • Caked up on me and creased
  • Overly glowy without setting
Final Thoughts

Sadly this was a bust for me. This just shows that foundations are very personal to each person’s skin and routines! And sadly I still have a refill for this cushion. If anyone is interested I’d be willing to sell the refill with the cushion casing for $15 + shipping. Email me at: natepd@gmail.com or message me on social media!
