Flight AAL147 landed – the screen said. Jonathan jumped out of his chair and hurried down to the arrival gate. He watched as a stream of people came out and slowly trickled out.
He couldn’t stand still, he was anxious, there was so much weighing on the news that Todd would bring. They went to the same college, meeting accidentally while buying drinks at a bar close to campus. They ended up hanging out all night and waking up together. It was quite a shock to Todd, who wasn’t out yet. But they became inseparable and Todd made peace with himself. This thanksgiving, he went home to tell his parents back in Boston that he was Gay and that he was dating Jonathan. He was mostly worried about his father who always asked him about girlfriends and bringing them home. If all went well, they hoped to spend Christmas together.
Todd came out, looking as good as one can after a long flight. He smiled when he saw Jonathan and ran to him, dropping his shuffle bag and hugging him tightly.
“Hey, baby, I missed you.”
