There’s little more satisfying than watching (and re-watching) a good movie. And this year, that already started out well, promises to be amazing for the big screen! I just want to jump up and down and squeal in excitement for all these titles to premiere! But… I will contain mysef. Ahem, without further ado, 6 movies I’m most looking forward to:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

From the same creator of Harry Potter, J.K Rowing brings us back to the wizardy world 70 years before Harry! Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything” and “The Danish Girl”) stars as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures. One word: YAAS!

Star Trek Beyond

Sorry guys, but I am 100% a trekkie and I am so psyched for the new movie! The other two were really cool and fun – especially the first one – and I’m sure this one will be just as awesome! The plot isn’t out yet, but the trailer shows enough to look forward to.

Zoolander 2

When the world’s most beautiful musical celebrities are systematically assassinated with formerly famous male model Derek Zoolander’s iconic “Blue Steel” look on their face, Interpol recruits Derek and his friend Hansel McDonald to infiltrate a new and different world of high fashion in order to put a stop to it.

When I first heard that this movie was coming out I was so excited! Haha, the first one is so silly but a blast to watch! I love the idea behind Zoolander 2 and I hear there are a LOT of amazing cameos and I can’t wait to see it.  #goodtimes

Finding Dory

I know this is a kid’s one, but Finding Nemo is, personally, one of my favorite animation movies along with Inside Out and Big Hero 6. And after hearing Ellen Degeneres (Dory’s voice actor) saying year after year how much she wanted a sequel, I am more than ready for this one to come out!

Suicide Squad

A secret government agency run by Amanda Waller, named A.R.G.U.S creates a task force comprising super villains, the “Suicide Squad”. They are assigned to execute tasks deemed too dangerous for superheroes in exchange for shorter prison sentences. The historically independent operators must bury their own interpersonal conflicts and agendas to form a cohesive unit to take on a singular task.

I’m a Marvel girl, but damn! Can a movie get more badass than this? Plus, look at the actors in this!

High Rise

London, 1975. Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) is a young doctor seduced by the lifestyle in a high-rise, an isolated community, cut off from the rest of society in their luxury tower block, and its creator, the architect Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons). Taking up residence on the twenty-fifth floor, Laing discovers a world of complex loyalties, and also strikes up a relationship with Royal’s devoted aide Charlotte (Sienna Miller). After Laing befriends Richard Wilder (Luke Evans), a documentary filmmaker relegated to the second floor who is determined to provoke the class injustices inherent in the high-rise, a dangerous social situation develops and the high-rise eventually fragments into violent tribes.

Probably not a lot of you have heard about this movie. It’s one of those that you will leave the cinema in deep thought over what you saw. I started hearing the audiobook for this, which I heard is incredible, read by the main man himself, Tom Hiddleston, but I quickly stopped because I didn’t want to spoil the plot!

And I just want to give a little shout-out to Doctor Strange (Marvel), featuring the talented Benedict Cumberbatch. I can’t wait for the trailer as I’m really curious about a completely new release from Marvel. The first sneak-peek already has me sold. But since there is no plot or trailer available I felt it unfair to add it to this list.

Are you excited for these? How about any other one I didn’t mention?
