Initially I come here and write the usual best and worst dressed red-carpet post, BUT, I wasn’t very excited with the dresses tonight. They were overall quite boring and some just downright, hmm… not cute. I have no idea what some designers were thinking! But after seeing two main themes appearing over and over, I decided to post about the trends that I spotted in this event!
Capes & Wings
Gosh, the capes are in full swing. It seemed like almost everyone was donning a cape or cape-inspired dress! Of course I exaggerate, but I’m not the biggest fan of it, some dresses can look gorgeous, but I know I’m tired of it since it started becoming popular in 2015.
White Dresses
White dresses have never been very common on the red carpet. They can be stunning though, so I was quite pleased seeing how many appeared on tonight’s Golden Globes. I think it’s a lovely stand out and chic color!
Best Dressed
Remeber how I wasn’t going to do a best and worst dressed list? Well, I still won’t. But I can’t help but mention this ONE dress. It’s unique and different from everything else I saw:
The beautiful Amber Heard was wearing this blushed pink dress with a flowery collar. The drapery is so beautiful and well done, whilst still showing her beautiful figure. It’s unusual, but stunning in it’s delicate simplicity.
I confess, the dress that came close to being the best for me was Lily James’s white and etherial gown. But between many other white and/or of similar cut, Amber’s stood out to me.
What are your thoughts?
