It has been too long since my last letter. I promise I haven’t forgotten you, I am well now and I can only hope you are too. Things have been difficult here but I am positive, we have been doing good.
I haven’t heard from Jim and I worry, he was taken for treatment after he got shot, please send my regards to Mary.
Thank you for the prayers. I’m not afraid, so don’t worry about me, my only worry is you. I look at your photo every night, and I dream of being in your arms again. My heart hurts to see you again.

Kate sobbed as she read the letter, fallen tears smudging the writing. She covered her mouth, hiccups tormenting her. She pressed the letter against her chest, her eyes closed, thinking of him. This was incredibly difficult, but she would be strong for him.
Sometimes we have to accept our loved one’s choices and be strong for them.
