Anna hurdled against the wall, staying away from the torrent. She never remembered her umbrella.
“Damn it…” She silently cursed. She needed to get to the subway, it was about two blocks away but the rain was so strong she didn’t dare. Her early night in was officially ruined.
A few moments ago…
Rob saw Anna looking like a sad puppy, he expected it when he heard it was raining – she always forgot her umbrella. He chuckled to himself. This would be his chance! He had been carrying the annoying thing on his bag for a whole month!
He hesitated a bit but finally walked to her, carrying his umbrella.
“Hey, aren’t you Anna from the 5th floor? I’m Rob, from the 8th!” He approached her casually. She smiled “Oh, Hi! This rain, huh?” She shook her head.
“I’m going to the subway, would you like to come?” He shower her his umbrella. Her face brightened and she nodded.
They made small talk, he had been thinking about what to say to her so many times. As soon as he saw the open Café, he asked. “Hey, want to stop for a warm cup of coffee?” He asked, holding his breath waiting for her answer.
“Sure! Why not?” She answered.
They went in and forgot all about the rain.
Sometimes bad things turn into good things.
