We live everyday going through challenges thrown at us, be it by other people or ourselves. These challenges can stop us from achieving our dreams, goals and even drive away the people we want near us! We’ve all heard the saying: “You are your worst enemy“. And that is quite true. We can be our worst enemies. Because as we’ve seen, loving yourself is very important especially if you want to share your life with someone. Not because no one will ever love you if you don’t love yourself – but because by not accepting who you truly are, you are putting obstacles in your way to happiness. And no loved one, or yourself, deserves that.

The only problem about falling in love with ourselves is that it can be a long and difficult process – but one very much worth it.

Stop and think about your happiness. Being happy is your birth right. Take a moment to realize what is stopping happiness into your life. Is it goals you haven’t acheived them? If you put your mind to it, you can get there. Is it the people in your life? Then end the bad links – life is too short to spend your life dedicating to people who are only pulling you down!

Spend time on you! Take yourself out on a date! Dress up and see in the mirror the gorgeous and wonderful person you are. Don’t be shy on the compliments! You know you deserve them. Or go to a coffee shop and sit down with a book! Take time off from worrying about everything.

No one is perfect, and we shouldn’t thrive to be. It’s not a reachable goal! Accept your flaws and work on the ones you feel you should. We all need self-improvement but acceptance is just as important.

Loving yourself is something that always needs to be a priority, because it’s vital.

  1. After I originally left a comment I seem to have
clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox
and now every time a comment is added I get four emails with the exact same comment.
There has to be an easy method you are able to remove me
    from that service? Many thanks!

  4. This is something that, for me, has come with age. I at least LIKE myself, and accept myself, a lot more than I did in my early 20s. Learning to love ourselves definitely changes everything.

  5. I have accepted myself from a young age thanks to my mom, but daily life can still affect us. It does change everything. Xo

  6. Loving yourself is part of life and of living a fulfilling one.

I thin people forget how important it is to do so, and get so caught up on what everyone is doing to remember just how wonderful they are. Thanks for the reminder.

  7. I’ve spent a lot of time learning to accept myself and what I’ve been through. Now I can say most of the time I do like myself. It’s important for me to do this to show an example for my daughter

  8. We are our worst enemies. Why is that? Its good to be mindful about how to improve oneself, but sometimes we are just too critical. Love your tips… Thanks for the positivity!

  9. Oh, I LOVE this post!! I am a huge advocate for self love and I adore that last quote – the best company in life is yourself! My grandma used to always say that if I didn’t like myself, who else would?!

  10. I totally agree with this. You can’t love anyone else if you don’t love yourself. Such great advice.
